Grenache Shiraz Mourvédre
Made traditionally in the same style as the classic blends of the Southern Rhone, the 2007 Medley is a complex and harmonious blend of hand selected, fully ripened old vine Grenache, Shiraz and Mourvédre parcels from both the Barossa and Clare Valleys.
The 2007 vintage was a very challenging one for most Clare and Barossa Valley winemakers due to drought conditions prevailing during the 2006/2007 growing season. Despite these low yields, fruit quality was extremely high, the tiny parcels creating intensely falvoured and coloured wines. Perfect for crafting quality GSM blends.
Appearance: Deep red brick in colour.
Nose: Seductive notes of dark cherries, sweet earthen spices and subtle French oak char complex beautifully on the nose.
Palate: The smooth flavours of dark cherries, sandlewood and earthen spices carry over from the nose to the sculptured palate, one that truly reflects its old world charm and loam over limestone soil provenance.
Cellaring potential of at least 10-12 years in optimal cellaring conditions.
